About Criminal Alien

I came up with the name "Criminal Alien" after hearing a politician repeatedly use the term while speaking about immigrants. The phrase lingered in my mind—not for its political meaning, but for the powerful imagery it created. Stripped from its original context, the words sounded like the title of a movie or the name of a mysterious being: an outlaw from another world, a creature both feared and misunderstood.

I checked to see if the domain name was available. To my surprise, it was. Bingo! I had a new name.

The combination felt like the art I wanted to create: dark, provocative, strange, and unforgettable. "Criminal" came to represent defiance, rebellion, and the refusal to conform, while "Alien" embodied the unknown, the bizarre, and the unexplored corners of existence. It also reflected the feeling of being an outsider—someone who never quite fits into the world around them.

The name Criminal Alien ultimately became a reflection of how I experience the world: a place filled with outsiders, oddities, awkwardness, and imperfections, where hidden beauty often reveals itself in unexpected places. I'm often drawn to the things that don't fit neatly into a category—the forgotten, the unconventional, and the misunderstood. Whether it's a person, an idea, or a creature born entirely from imagination, I find myself fascinated by the stories that exist beneath the surface. What might sometimes seem strange or unsettling, I often see as unique and worth exploring.

Through my art, I celebrate the unusual and the overlooked. I create characters and worlds inspired by unlikely heroes, misunderstood creatures, and surreal visions that blur the boundary between beauty and discomfort. To me, the most interesting things are rarely perfect or ordinary. They exist on the fringes, where imagination, mystery, and individuality collide.
